The Planning Board is an advisory board established by the Black Mountain Town Council to provide insight on matters related to land use and community development. Members review and make recommendations to the Town Council to improve land use related ordinances. The Planning Board also provides additional planning recommendations to the Town Council and the Board of Adjustment as appropriate, and pursue other studies or planning initiatives as directed by the Town Council. Responsibilities & Purpose
The Planning Board shall be governed by the terms of North Carolina General Statutes 160D-301 and 160D-604 and by the Town of Black Mountain Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Ordinance was initially enacted in December 1982 and Subdivision Regulations enacted September 1985, and any subsequent amendments thereto. All Planning Board members shall thoroughly familiarize themselves with the provisions of these statutes and ordinances. Members must reside within the corporate limits of the Town of Black Mountain.
