Criminal Investigation Division

The Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D.) is dedicated to the Black Mountain Police Department and consists of a General Assignment Unit and a Vice and Narcotics Unit, which work in collaboration with surrounding agencies and the Department of Homeland Security.

CID. is comprised of  two full-time and one part-time officers who report directly to the Criminal Investigations Sergeant. The CID officers will often take over cases after the initial investigation was handled through the Patrol Division.

Responsible for all aspects of investigations, CID officers are thoroughly trained in crime scene investigations, photography, latent print dusting and other various aspects of criminal investigations. 

The Criminal Investigations Division actively participates in narcotics investigations. Black Mountain Police Department conducts narcotics investigations at the State and Federal levels.  Joint narcotics investigations with other Municipalities, as well as County, State and Federal Agencies, occur regularly.
