Black Mountain and the surrounding Appalachian region have plentiful streams, creeks, and rivers that serve as a vital natural resource to the area. With much of this water passing through our community, and even through our parks, we feel a responsibility to keep these waters clear of trash and hazardous materials.
During the warmer months, we encourage volunteers of all ages to join us in helping clean up the streams and rivers around our community and parks. There is no fee to sign up, but registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and water gear to appropriately navigate in and around the water. All upcoming river cleanup events are listed below. We hope you’ll join us!
