Our garden is modeled on Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). ABCD is an approach that recognizes the strengths, gifts, talents and resources of individuals and communities, and helps communities to mobilize and build on these for sustainable development. From utilizing wood chips and leaves from local businesses to leveraging relationships with local institutions and associations and relying on the talents and skills of hundreds of community members, the Dr. John Wilson community garden weaves together a web of reciprocal relationships
Bounty & Soul
We partner with Bounty & Soul whose mission is Together, we connect, share, and celebrate nutritious food, education, and community. The Dr. John Wilson Community garden donates over 6000 lbs of fresh fruits and vegetables to Bounty & Soul each year.
