The NC Department of Transportation required the Town to remove the earthen walkway in the concrete culvert structure. The project also required accessibility improvements to the paved path on each side of the underpass. This work was completed in June 2022.
The connection exists within a floodway. It will flood periodically, and it should be avoided during large rain events.
