The Town of Black Mountain has declared a local State of Emergency to coordinate response and protective actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Buncombe County and all of its municipalities will adopt Executive Order 180, which extends Executive Order 176 while also tightening mask requirements and enforcement.
Under Executive Order 180, current precautions will remain in place, but amended provisions include:
Face coverings must be worn outdoors if it is not possible to maintain a consistent physical distance of at least 6 feet from non-household members.
Face Coverings must be worn in any public indoor space even when maintaining 6 feet of distance. Including, but not limited to:
Gyms - even when exercising
All schools - public and private
All public or private transportation when travelling with people outside of the household
Large retail businesses with more than 15,000 square feet must have an employee stationed near entrances to enforce mask wearing and implement occupancy limits.
