Create Your Own Luminary
Friday, December 4, 1:00-5:00 pm
at Lake Tomahawk or in Downtown Black Mountain
Join us at Lake Tomahawk for a scenic evening stroll around the lake! This year, community members will have the chance to create a luminary to be included among the lights along the walking path. To reduce the spread of COVID-19, no other Circle of Lights festivities will take place other than the luminary walk around the lake. Anyone interested in dedicating a luminary to a loved one will be able to create their own at Lake Tomahawk or in downtown Black Mountain on the afternoon of Friday, December 4th, 1:00-5:00 p.m. A table with all luminary-making supplies will be by the playground at Lake Tomahawk and in front of the Old Depot downtown. There will be no cost to create a luminary. On the evening of December 5th, all luminaries will be around the walking path of Lake Tomahawk. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own hot chocolate/coffee to enjoy on their walk.
Please remember to follow the three W's (wear, wait, wash) at all times during this event and in any public space. Face coverings are now required outdoors when you are within 6ft of others who are not members of your household. Therefore, when walking around the lake, please make sure to wear your face covering while passing others.
