[ARCHIVED] Black Mountain Fire Department to distribute at-home COVID-19 tests

UPDATE: Our current supply of tests is gone. We will update when more arrive.
Masks are still available. Residential households in the U.S. can order one set of 4 free at-home tests from USPS.com. Please use this link: https://special.usps.com/testkits...

Black Mountain Fire Department, located at 106 Montreat Rd.,  will be a distribution point for free at-home rapid COVID-19 test kits. Distribution of the tests will take place on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • We will provide one kit per adult but no more than 2 kits per adult present at that time.
  • We will provide one bag of masks per adult present (10 masks per bag).
  • Individuals must be present to receive kits or masks. We will not hold or reserve any test kits or masks.
  • Per the test kit instructions, those 14 years and older can self-administer the at-home test. For those 13 years and younger, an adult should test the individual. Given this information, we are only providing tests to adults to minimize distribution to groups that are not recommended to self-administer.
