The challenge also encourages residents to take a picture with the pink hydrant and and use the hashtag to honor a loved one who has battled — or is battling — breast cancer. Please post on your social media and tag the Black Mountain Fire Department! Residents can sign their name on the hydrant, as well in support! Residents can expect to see hydrants being painted pink throughout downtown for the month of October. Firemen will place a sign with a marker at each hydrant. Please accept this challenge as we express our support for breast cancer awareness!
